Generally, no fear at the moment for those who attended the event, event opposite, but the situation in The Czech Republic is not that bad as far as COVID deads (320 pax as of today) and nb of ill people (only 10 066 pax).

What will you do if you organise a dinner? Do you think that could work with social distancing?

I think it could work as in the restaurants, no social distancing at the table, only between tables min. 1,5 m

So far no coffee served, but we will start with sustainable disposable cups/plates, we have zero waste concept, so you can have one bowl from sugar cain for whole social event

Thanks for the pictures! Nobody seems to be wearing masks - has that not been an issue in Czech Republic?

It is obligatory still to were masks inside buildings and during events but as you can see not many participants do respect this rule, expecially when they are seated more than 2 m from each other.

Hi Lenka,
Such an useful topic, thank you! In the UK, we have been discussing who has responsibility if someone contracts the virus. Did you have to update your insurance to run these events? Did you require delegates to have any testing before they attended ? Is there a tracing app in Prague? Did you do a risk assessment on what to do if someone at your event later tested positive? If so, can you share any details from it?

Thank you!

No testing is obligatory. Upon discussion with the main hygienist of the Czech Republic, it would be very difficult to track exactely when any person got the Covid, as you can have no symptoms upon 5 days prior, so very difficult to find responsible person or body, so no insurance change needed. What is definately usefull is the app that can potentially tract all contacts of all delegates. There is app/tech. called e-rouska in the Czech Republic that you can sign up to and is tracking all people around (also registered) if had or will catch COVID later, so you can be later contacted and put in carantine or asked to be tested. And Yes we did risk assesment, and have inside procedure what to do if anyone have COVID symptoms (separation room, doctor exam, COVID testing etc.)

Would love to know about networking too!

The networking runs as usual, only people are supposed to were facial mask and keep distance. We have safety guards who are informing all people about the safety/higienic rules, plus providing them with leaflet what is forbidden

So interesting! In the U.K. people are exploring the idea of scanning delegates temperature before entry. Is that something you are doing?

there are masks in the top pic

currently, temperature measurement is only compulsory if we catch person upon entrance with some COVID symptoms but as the meeting industry we are discussing temperature control as one possible safe practice to minimase risk in case of a next wave of COVID, so the events are not forbidden anymore- we have created the initiative called NO COVID that are unifying safety/hygienic practices that will be respected by venues, organisers, clients etc.

Please can you give us your 3 top tips for event organisers in the UK?

ask for regular sanitation of all premises, desinfection for delegates everywhere, get ready for hybrid meetings
